third diary by ruoxuan

27/2

I have experienced three days of their life already. And today I have the second chemistry class.  My buddy has said that many of her classmates don’t enjoy their chemistry class because they don’t like their teacher. In the two classes I have attended, the teacher uses half an hour say nothing useful. This is almost one third of their class time but she uses it to blame the students who didn’t do their homework well. I think this is not a good thing. As my classmates said, although there are some students who don’t do homework, more students do it. But she wastes all students’ time just to blame a few of them. I wonder in this tendency how can they finish their lessons in time? But there are still something good in today’s chemistry lesson. The teacher uses the group discussion like a game to let students understand the change when an organic reaction happened. This way is quite interesting and it can help students understand it deeper and remember it better.

Today I have my lunch at 10,30 and then have another meal at three o’clock. This is because my buddy has lessons during the normal lunch time. And as I know, this is even a normal phenomenon in JC. I think this is quite unreasonable. As they care students’ physical health, why the students cannot have lunch regularly?

Besides, I enjoyed the GP lesson today. I find out that these students read very fast compared to me. By attending their GP lesson I see how far I am to be a good English user.

This is the first day of our JXP program. Everything is fresh and interesting to me. We get up early and I wait at CJC canteen for a long time because my buddy doesn’t come on time. But later we have a nice conversation.

The first lesson my buddy has is PE. It became a challenge for me. The task today is to run around the school for 4 rows and it is about 900m per row. To be honest, in China I have never run such a long way in PE classes. And I also haven’t do running exercise for a long time. It is very hard and difficult to insist and finish the task for me. I finally lose my breath. But as I see, the whole class tries their best to do it and many of the girls can do it easily. I think school in Singapore pays more attention on students’ physical quality and they really do better than in China. Under this condition, no matter Singapore students can have a strong body.
