When I reached there at around 07:30, I was quite shocked because I saw the canteen is full of students! Actually they were not eating but studying and doing teamwork! Although we also had self-study time from 07:00 to 7:40 in China, it was compulsory and under the management of the head teacher. However, in Singapore, students did it all on their own and there was no one forcing them! I concluded that they were really diligent and knew what they should do for independent learning. At that time, I realized why my cousin who has been studying in Singapore since secondary school told me that Singapore students could often do better in their future work than Chinese students. It is because that they have developed the habit of independent learning even since junior college, which will benefit them for the whole life. That is what I should learn from them.
